Jericoacoara, also known as Jeri, is a pretty small village at the north of Brazil. As Jeri is very touristy, most of the guest houses are quite expensive, but don´t worry if you are a budget traveler like me – you still can find hostels with good prices.
I stayed at Villa Chic Hostel and Pousada (pousada means guest house) and I recommend the place. They have dorms (mixed and female) and private rooms too. The place is new, it opened a year ago, so everything looks nice and is brand new.
My option was the female dorm, that has 4 bunk beds, and is split in two different areas, which makes it feel as if you were sleeping in a room with for only 4 people. They have ar con, wifi that works inside the dorm too, and the bathroom is inside the dorm (2 bathrooms). The accommodation at the dorm coasts 45 reais (about 13 euros, or 17 dollars), including the breakfast.
The breakfast is simple but nice, including a typical dish for north of Brazil called Tapioca (it looks like a pancake, it´s made with a special kind of flour, and has different fillings, such as cheese, meet, coconut and sweetened milk…), and fruits, juices, cakes, bread etc.
The common area from Villa Chic is cozy, it has a small swimming pool, hammocks, sunbeds and even a barbecue place. And it has a kitchen that you can use, which is practical for saving money with the meals – I prepared my food every night.
The hostel lis at Main Street (Rua Principal), about three blocks from the Square, on a relaxed area. It´s a very good place to meet people and make new friends.
The blog was invited to stay at Villa Chic – we thank the hostel for the opportunity and would like to highlight that the opinions here at the blog are free and personal.
