Super fun sequence of ten zip lines at Tsitsikamma Park
If you like nature and adventure, the Tree Canopy Tour at the Garden Route, in South Africa, is perfect for you! I did it as part of my 6-days Garden Route tour, with Earthstompers, and I had lots of fun!

HOW IS THE TREE CANOPY TOUR
It´s a structure of 10 platforms in giant yellowwood trees at Tsitsikamma National Park, where you can enjoy a sequence of 10 super cool slides.
You do it along a steel cable suspended at 30m above the floor! Some of the slides aren´t that long or fast, but some can be as long as a 100m! You can go pretty fast, it´s lots of fun!
They provide you full body harness and all the equipment necessary to do it completely safe. Before you start the tour, you receive all the orientation needed, and they take you by jeep to the starting point. The guides are great, very experienced and cool guys!
The views from the top of the platforms are beautiful, and the adventure of sliding around and feeling like a monkey is amazing!
I did it with Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours, and I had a great experience. It´s located close to the Bloukrans Bridge (where you can try the highest commercial bungee jump in the World), at Tsitsikamma National Park, which is part of the Garden Route.
The tour takes about 2h30 in total, and it´s weather dependent. It costs 595 rands (Oct/16), and includes the guide, all the equipment and also the lunch (toasted sandwich) and light refreshments.

ABOUT THE GARDEN ROUTE
I did the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour at the 4th day of my Garden Route tour, which I did with Earthstompers.
When you do the tour, you have two optional activities at this day, the Tree Canopy Tour or the Bungee Jump at Bloukrans Bridge. When I did it, we had two cars, so exceptionally we had the chance to do both activities! It was great!

Most part of this day of the tour you spend practicing these adventures. After you finish them, you drive for about two hours until Addo Elephant Park, where you spend the night. We stopped first at the supermarket to buy some stuff for the next day, when we could do an extra early game drive inside the park.
The night was at Avoca River Resort, a beautiful and big farm, even quite fancy. The rooms were amazing, beautifully decorated on an antique wooden style, kinda vintage. It has a comfy big bed, private bathroom, heater, wardrobe, towel and a balcony with a great view.
The farm has a swimming pool and a trampoline – it´s lots of fun to jump on it, and after warming up, to go for a swim! The views of the area around are beautiful.
We had a great dinner at the farm, trying a delicious local dish (bobotie) with wine and dessert. All perfect! It´s a great place to stay if you´re visiting Addo Elephant Park.
