Where to stay in Coffee Bay

Cool and budget accommodation in Coffee Bay

Africa do Sul - Coffee Bay - Coffee ShackDefinitely, at Coffee Shack Backpackers! There are other options of hostels, and even resorts, in Coffee Bay as well, but the experience of staying in Coffee Shack is something not to miss!

HOW IS THE HOSTEL

Africa do Sul - Coffee Bay - Coffee Shack (20)Such an amazing and cool place! Coffee Shack Backpackers it good for who wants to party, but also good for chilling. It´s just in front of the beach, and they have a cool garden to chill out. The area of the hostel is big, with the rooms and dorms spread on the huts (Xhosa style).

África do Sul - Coffee BayIt has a small but nice bar, with a pool table, fare prices for beer (which you can just sign on your tap, as everything else at the hostel, and pay when you check out), where they promote the parties.

There´s also a guests kitchen, which you´re welcome to use (just make sure you go to the market before getting to Coffee Bay, there aren´t supermarkets there, just a small store).

The staff is amazing, super friendly, and they always organize activities, such as watching the sunset from the cliff, beach day, village tour, cliff jumping, Hole in The Water Hike etc. Btw, you receive a welcome drink when you arrive at the hostel.

Africa do Sul - Coffee Bay - Coffee ShackROOMS AND DORMS

There are different sizes of dorms, but they are all good. The rooms are comfy, some are for two people, others are for four (a double bed + a bunk bed). Some of the rooms are in huts (rondavels) – Xhosa style. The bathrooms are shared, for the dorms and for the rooms.

The prices start at 150 Rands for the dorms, and at 400 Rands for the rooms (Ago/16). Also, if you stay 5 nights there, the fifth night is for free!

africa-do-sul-coffee-bay-01DAILY ACTIVITIES

It´s totally worth joining their daily activities. Every day, starting at 10:30 AM, there´s something different happening.

Sometimes is the Beach Day, with free surfing lessons, football with locals and beach Volleyball.

Africa do Sul - Coffee Bay - Coffee ShackThe hike to the Hole in the Wall is a must, you gotta do it while in Coffee Bay. And everyday they climb the hill to see the sunset.

For who wants to learn to surf, this is the perfect place – every day, at 7:30 AM and 3 PM they offer surfing lessons, with a very good instructor, and for a very good price (50 rands).

I had an amazing experience at Coffee Shack! The staff was great, the meals were amazing, and I made lots of friends. I´d totally recommend that you stay there when you go to Coffee Bay!
