Visiting the main post card of Cape Town
Traveling to Cape Town and not visiting Table Mountain is like going to Paris and not visiting the Eiffel Tower.
The mountain is the main post card of the city, and the views from the top are astonishing! It´s considered one of the new Seven Natural Wonders.
It´s very important to check the weather forecast before deciding to go there – depending on the weather, the CableWay is not even opened. You can still climb the mountain if it´s closed, but you should definitely choose a beautiful sunny day to go there, to be able to enjoy the pretty views.

HOW TO GET TO THE TOP
There are two ways to go up the Table Mountain: climbing or taking the CableWay. For those who want to climb it, you gotta choose one of the different trails up, and be prepared for some exercise – it takes about 2-2:30 hours to get there.
Otherwise, you can take the CableWay and get there very easily. The views on the way up are pretty, and a cool thing is that it keeps turning around, 360 degrees, to make sure you can get the best of the views.
The first CableWay goes up at 8:30 AM, and the last to come back is at 5:30 PM. The best thing is to buy the ticket online – but even with the ticket in hands, be prepared to some queue.

hen I was there the CableWay had been closed for manteinance for 2 weeks, so when they reopened it, the lines were big – it took me 1:15 hour to get there, even had bought the ticket in advance.
Bloggers tip: if you go up climbing, a cool option is to go down by the CableWay, so that you don´t get too tired from the way down (your knees will probably agree with me… haha). It´s possible to buy the one way ticket up there.
The CableWay tickets cost 255 rands for round trip, or 135 rands for one way (Oct/16). To buy the ticket in advance, and also to check the weather condition to see if the Cableway is working, you can access Table Mountain site here.
WHAT TO DO
The views from the top are impressive, you should reserve at least 1-2 hours to walk around through the diverse trails and enjoy the views.
It´s also a good idea to find a good spot and just seat there and relax, and maybe read a book.
There´s a good restaurant/cafe at the top, that sell from snacks to pizzas and meals. It might be a good idea to take a sandwich or some snacks with you if you´re on a budget – as you can imagine, the prices at the restaurant aren´t cheap at all.
Bloggers tip: you can take a bottle of wine with you and have a picnic there at the top, enjoying the amazing views.

GETTING THERE
The easiest way to go to Table Mountain is by bus. You can take either the 106 or 107 (check more about the buses here at My Citi site), getting off at Lower Kloof stop. From there (literally at the corner) you can take a free shuttle to the top.
You can also go by car, in case you have one there, but it usually gets very busy, so you´ll end up parking quite far away.
Another option is to take an Uber, it works very well in Cape Town, and the prices are inexpensive.
