Adrenalin and amazing views abseiling from the top of the most known attraction of Cape Town
If you´re an adrenalin addict, like this blogger, you definitely should try the abseil at Table Mountain! The views from the top are stunning, and the abseil is super cool. Also, it´s not every day that you can be thrown off the main post card of a city!

HOW IS THE ABSEILThe abseil is great, you start at 1000m hight, at the top of Table Mountain, and go down 112m, facing astonishing views of Cape Town. The panorama includes the beautiful beach Camps Bay and also the mountain chain Twelve Apostles.
The adventure includes the proper abseil at the wall and also a part where you just stay hanging, without any walls around. It´s lots of fun!
You can book it in advance, or just decide to do it when you´re already at the top. I did it with Abseil Africa, and it was just amazing!
The guides are very experienced, and they make sure you learn everything about how the equipement works, so that you feel totally safe.
The time to do the activity changes according to your rhythm – I did lots of jumps going down (it´s cool and much easier than just keep walking), and took about 10 minutes. If you go slowly, you might take 20-30 minutes.
After you finish the abseil you have to do a hike up, back to the top. It takes about 25-30 minutes until you get there again. Btw, you receive a certificate proving that you dared to do it! The whole activity takes about 1 hour in total, considering the briefing, the abseil and the hike up.
GETTING THERE
To do the abseil you gotta go to the top of Table Mountain, either climbing or by CableWay – you can read more about it here, at this other post.
It´s easy to find the Abseil Africa team there at the top – just after getting off the CableWay, if you keep walking on the right path, you´ll already see them.

Keep in mind that it´s a weather dependent activity – they will get in touch with you in the morning of the day you booked it, to confirm that it will happen.
They operate daily (weather permitting) from 9:30 to 3:30, and the abseil cost 995 rands (Oct/16).
